A resident of Baguio since his St. Louis University days, Wig Tysmans is a self-taught photographer who has been taking photos professionally for more than thirty years. He is a sought-after corporate, documentary, and advertising photographer whose camera has captured company CEOs and other prominent personalities including Philippine presidents.

His solo exhibitions both here and abroad highlight his expertise as a fine art photographer specializing in portraiture and nudes.  Notable exhibitions were held at Ayala Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Manila, Goethe Institut Manila, The Luz Gallery, Pinto Gallery and a permanent collection of the “Shell Series” at the St. Luke’s Hospital, Fort Bonifacio.

Work as a fashion photographer has also placed his images in various broadsheets such as the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Manila Standard, and the Philippine Star.

His photographs have graced the covers and inside spreads of magazines like Mabuhay, MEGA, People Asia, Bride Philippines, Lifestyle Asia, BluPrint, METRO, Metro Society, and the Philippine Tatler, Society Tatler and Asian Dragon.

As he is in the business of capturing moments, Wig has also devoted much of his time and talent in producing books on varied subjects like Sinaunang Habi (ethnic weave); Tahor (cock breeders), Jamming on an Old Saya and Mega’s Young Designers Competition (fashion); Bencab’s Rock Sessions (drawings); two books on Malacanang Palace; two books for Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas: Ginto (excavated gold collection) and Tanaw (painting collection); Tabayag (lime containers of the Cordilleras); Art Petron (5 years of painting and photography competitions); Philippine Congress Centennial; Camarines Sur: Fire and Water; Philippine Tatler “Seven” book; “Hidden Treasures, Secret Pleasures” a book on the art collection of 3 bankers; “Lumina Pandit” Rare book collection of the 400 year old Sto. Tomas Library; The Santa Anna Church book; Metrobank Book-50 years; Gus Albor coffee table book/biography and the coffee table book on the “50th Year of the Petron Refinery”.

Wig’s images are also featured in several coffee table books like Eros Pinoy and The Filipina, Philippine Tatler Interiors, “Cory” book cover, etc. Recently launched are  the “La Salle Centennial Book”; “Mastering the Seas” - the 50th anniversary of the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific; “Duty Free Philippines” – 25th anniversary book; “Phyllis Zaballero” coffee table book/biography of the painter’s 40 years of work.

To be launched this year is the new version of “Malacañang – the Pinoy edition” and the “Spirit of MOL” coffee table book on a Japanese training ship in partnership with Magsaysay Shipping, Inc., that was decommissioned after 40 years at sea.

A doting grandfather of five, Wig’s wife and daughters have been totally supportive of his pursuit of his colorful career.
